By default, Prestashop does not allow you to choose a carrier other than the one the customer selected during order process. Once the order is validated, any modification is impossible.

Now, thanks to this module, you will be able to change the carrier, the weight of the order and its tracking number from the Prestashop back-office.

Choosing a carrier

This module is particularly suitable for merchants who work with several different carriers (ex: Chronopost, DHL, UPS, …) and send parcels with one or the other according to different criteria (region or country of delivery, price, deadline,…) ; but display a generic mode of transport on their store (eg: “Standard delivery”).

The use of “generic” carriers does not allow the merchant to set a tracking URL (as this URL depends on “real” carrier to whom the parcel is given). This module makes it possible to get around this problem.

Switch to another carrier

You may also need to change the carrier if, for example, the final weight of the order is significantly different from the value calculated by Prestashop (slightly heavier or lighter). In this case the 1st carrier is no longer suitable and you want or must select another.

Send follow-up email

The module has an option allowing you to send to the customer the message containing the tracking link of his parcel, directly after having selected the new carrier. To do this, all you have to do is check a box.

Update order status

The module also offers an facultative option that allows you to switch the order to the status of your choice, after the module has finished changing the carrier (such as “Shipped”), in order to save you time.

Compatibility

This module is compatible with all stores running Prestashop 1.6 and 1.7.
